Muscle And Fitness
Why get fitter?
If you are constantly tired, overweight or feel you lack mobility then increasing your muscle and fitness levels may be a good way to feel better and have more energy.
Even if you work a desk job and don’t do much physical activity you will probably benefit from a good muscle and fitness program. Actually, it may be a good idea to get into a regular exercise program for health reasons, especially if you do not get much exercise in your day-to-day life.
Having increased muscle and fitness levels can also help you out of dangerous situations, whether they are in the city or in the country. Being able to think quickly and react with speed and precision can prevent injury or even save your life.
Make it fun
Most gyms offer a lot of different machines and there are people around to ask for advice, but no one can make exercising fun except you. Exercise is, after all, work, so finding the right way to exercise that not only increases your muscle and fitness levels but also keeps you inspired to continue with the program is quite important. Exercise should be a routine, not something you do when you feel you’ve let yourself go.
Increasing your muscle and fitness levels through exercise does not have to be a solitary activity. Exercising with a friend will often get you better results because you don’t realize you are exercising as much when you are hanging out with friends. Most fitness clubs have group rates or one-off entry passes for guests of their members.
Most fitness consultants say that exercising for 2 hours a day is good, but most people simply don’t have the time to spend 2 hours in the gym. A regular exercise program that involves 30 minutes of good all round muscle and fitness exercise can be effective. It is better to exercise in small amounts when you have time than not at all.
Muscle and fitness training
Fitness is generally divided into two categories, targeted muscle fitness and cardiovascular fitness. Free weight exercises are designed to isolate specific muscles, and fitness levels all round are increased by cardiovascular exercises such as walking, jogging, cycling and dancing.
When targeting individual muscles it is important to get good advice based on your expectations for the particular exercise. Gym consultants will tell you that building extra muscle mass for competition may be very different to generally increasing your muscle and fitness levels. A good all-round workout will build natural looking muscle tone as you will not target individual muscles but a range of related muscles.
