Strength And Conditioning
Strength in the muscle refers to the ability to exert force by the muscle itself on an external object. In novice terms, strength is the ability to exert force against a resistance. Training programs consists of strength and conditioning – exercises to ensure that when a muscle is exercised, it is conditioned to prevent injuries and to maintain the strength level of that muscle.
Strength has three classifications and different training program is done to develop the different kinds of strength. Maximum strength refers to the biggest amount of force that can be executed in a single movement. Elastic strength refers to overcome resistance with a single fast contraction. Strength endurance is the last type of strength and refers to the ability to express force many times over. Strength and conditioning – training is done to get stronger and to develop elastic strength.
It is important to remember that there must be a balance between all kinds of exercise, does not matter what the aim of the individual is. Wrong exercise techniques, too little exercise, too much exercise, too heavy weights or too light are all factors can influence results. Through a thorough assessment beforehand, they will identify the individuals’ strong and weak points and will work out a training program to overcome any obstacles.
The individual will be evaluated constantly and if necessary, the training program will be adjusted accordingly.
